Education and experience

From source

Associate Professor Zübeyde Bayram was born in Istanbul in 1980. She qualified in medicine from Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 2005 and completed her specialty training in cardiology at Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital in 2012, obtaining the title of Specialist in Cardiology. Her specialty thesis was on “The Role of Brain Natriuretic Peptide in Prosthetic Valve Disease”.

After completing her specialty training, she worked as a consultant cardiologist at Muş State Hospital and Kartal Yavuz Sultan Selim State Hospital. In 2015 she joined Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital as a Senior Registrar and Clinical Educator. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2022 and that of Clinical Educator at the University of Health Sciences in 2023. In 2026 she joined the Department of Cardiology at Medipol University Hospital.

Dr Bayram has performed a large number of coronary angiograms, coronary stenting procedures and complex coronary interventions. She is experienced in left main and bifurcation interventions, chronic total occlusion (CTO) interventions, peripheral vascular interventions and transcatheter valve interventions. She is also actively involved in the percutaneous interventional treatment of congenital heart disease.

At Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital she served actively on the advanced heart failure, heart transplantation and left ventricular assist device (LVAD) committees. In advanced cardiac imaging she has extensive experience in three-dimensional echocardiography, the assessment of cardiomyopathies and rare cardiac diseases, the evaluation of native and prosthetic valve disease using advanced imaging techniques, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and cardiac computed tomography (CT).

During her time as Senior Registrar and Clinical Educator, she contributed to the theoretical and practical training of many residents and medical students. In 2017 she received training in left ventricular assist devices at Hannover University.

Dr Bayram is one of the few physicians with clinical experience and academic expertise in all three areas of interventional cardiology, heart failure and advanced cardiac imaging, and who is able to combine them in practice. She is also one of the women cardiologists actively practising interventional cardiology.

A member of numerous national and international cardiology societies, Dr Bayram has more than 200 papers and presentations published in national and international scientific journals or presented at scientific meetings, as well as many book chapters. Over the past three years she has given nearly 50 invited lectures and seminars at national and international congresses and meetings, sharing her clinical experience with colleagues.

She currently works in the Department of Cardiology at Medipol Mega Hospital.

Rather than focusing on a single investigation or treatment, Dr Bayram takes a multidisciplinary approach to the assessment of her patients, considering the clinical findings, advanced cardiac imaging results and, where necessary, invasive assessment as a whole.
