Education and experience
Prof. Yavuz Selim Yıldırım graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. After completing his specialty training at Haseki Training and Research Hospital, he worked in the United States at Johns Hopkins University, Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery; Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, Boston Children's Hospital; Tufts University, Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery; and Cleveland Clinic, Head and Neck Institute, Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. Bringing the experience he gained abroad back to Türkiye, Prof. Yıldırım was awarded the title of Associate Professor at Bezmialem University Faculty of Medicine.
A lecturer at Doğuş University Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Yıldırım has performed many successful operations, particularly rhinoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, snoring surgery, thyroid surgery and hearing-loss surgery. He holds the title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), held by only a small number of doctors in Türkiye and worldwide.
