Born in 1960, Prof. Bekir Sami Uyanık graduated in medicine from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1984. He became a Specialist in Clinical Biochemistry in 1994, Associate Professor in 1996 and Professor in 2003.

His awards include the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) Young Scientist Support Award at the 11th National Biochemistry Congress of the Turkish Biochemical Society (1992),

Successful Poster at the 3rd National Biomedical Science and Technology Symposium, Uludağ University (1996),

and Excellent Poster at the 18th International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, Japan (2002).

He has published 43 research articles in international journals and 55 in national journals, and has 121 presentations at international and national congresses.
