Education and experience
Professor Basri Çakıroğlu teaches in the Department of Urology at Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine. After graduating from 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine, Professor Çakıroğlu completed urology specialty training at Taksim Training and Research Hospital. Professor Çakıroğlu has practised urology for more than 25 years. Over the course of the career, Professor Çakıroğlu has concentrated in particular on endourology, paediatric urology, uro-oncology, andrology and infertility, and has performed a large number of successful operations in these fields. Professor Çakıroğlu specialises in advanced urological procedures such as laparoscopic surgery and surgery for prostate and bladder cancer. In addition, by using minimally invasive surgical techniques, Professor Çakıroğlu speeds up patients' recovery and achieves more effective results with less invasive methods. Within this surgical experience in urology, Professor Çakıroğlu also successfully performs radical prostatectomy using the advanced robotic da Vinci Surgical System, with high precision and a minimally invasive approach.
Since 2005, Professor Çakıroğlu has continued to work as a urologist at Hisar Hospital Intercontinental. Professor Basri Çakıroğlu also teaches as a lecturer at Üsküdar University Faculty of Medicine, passing knowledge and experience on to young doctors and thereby contributing to medical education.
Having taken part in many international studies since qualifying as a specialist, Professor Çakıroğlu has made significant contributions to the literature by publishing articles in SCI/SCI-E indexed international journals, and through this work has been a pioneer in developments in urology. Professor Basri Çakıroğlu has articles published in many international and national journals, and continually updates professional knowledge by attending congresses and symposia. Professor Çakıroğlu is also an active member of many medical societies.
