6 Kasım 1967’de Ankara’da doğmuştur. Ankara Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi’ni ve Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesini bitirmiştir. Psikiyatri uzmanlık eğitimini Ankara Numune Eğitim Araştırma Hastanesinde tamamlamıştır.

Uzmanlık eğitimi sonrası 1997-2013 yılları arasında Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Ruh ve Sinir Hastalıkları Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesinde çalışmıştır.2012 yılında Psikiyatri Doçenti olduktan sonra 2013 yılında Erenköy Ruh ve Sinir hastalıkları Hastanesine Eğitim Görevlisi olarak atanmış ve 2013 ve 2026 yılları arasında Kadın servisinin şefliğini yapmıştır.2021 yılında SBÜ Psikiyatri Anabilim dalında profesörlük kadrosuna atanmıştır.

Prof. Dr. Engin Emrem Beştepe 1999 yılında University of Chicago, Center for Family Health’de Aile Terapisi fellowu olarak görev yapmıştır.
